Few simple measures to correct your faulty posture/maintain a healthy posture:
1. Maintain your spine in proper alignment, don't try to overstretch or try to sit straight forcefully
2. Take care of your spine, strengthening is good, but stretching of tight paraspinal muscles is also very important.
3. Regular misuse of postural muscles creates lot of triggers in the para-spinal muscles. Managing these triggers are the most important.
4. If allowed to persist these primary triggers create lot of secondary triggers.
5. Change in curve at one spinal level can cause compensatory secondary spinal curves at other levels.
6. Spinal curves work as shock absorber; loss of spinal curve makes us vulnerable to disc bulges and degenerative changes in the spine and intervertebral discs.
7. Manipulation/massage around spine should be avoided. Injury should be ruled out before trying any intervention.
8. Our spine is the main control center for all the functions in our body, so managing a healthy & flexible spine is very important for a healthy living.
